always trying to be a better one. I was looking at another thread recently got depressed. not just because of that but mainly because one of my best friends is dying
please pray for him( and me) so glad I found this thread
I have a question for everyone. I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus died on that cross for my sins and paved the way for me to go to heaven. Is everyone here church going people? I have had a rough time with churches, so I tend to stick with taped or broadcasted studies, or studies with people that focus on one thing, such as David, or Daniel.

Yep, I am church going. It can be hard to find the right church. I know that we visited many before, thankfully, finding our home church. I don't think that you necessarily have to sit in a church pew, but should fellowship with believers. You are doing that.

Debi, I have been a church goer all my life 43 years, until the last year. I have found that the area where I live there are no bible believing churches left. They all have a watered down gospel with a Starbucks in the lobby and that goes against everything I beleive in. There is not a church in driving distance that I would attend and I HATE it. I feel so lost and alone. We try to do the church at home thing, but I would love it if we had a family to do it with and not just ourselves.

I do that regularly. I do subscribed to "When two or more gather in His name..." My issue with churches has not been the teachings, but the judgement from members. Even Calvary Chapel. I have several friends that are non believers, live "alernative lifestyles", etc. And I found myself being labeled as "needing help". My problem is that I LOVE going to church and the worship music and hearing the word. I do not like the conversations afterwards.

I guess I am lucky that most of our friends, and our families are Christians too. Redneck about it, but Christians. After my last experience with church, I am very content to sit at home with Ken and watch the bible shows on the history channel and tear them apart. They are SOOO misleading!
