Any chance these two will make it?

I have had great luck with Ideal on my last order so I put in another one and unfortunately it looks like at least two might not make it -




This is the Sultan, won't stand at all, won't drink. I have him in a bandana around my neck and am dipping his beak into sugar water but until I submerge his nostrils, I don't even get a response. He has opened one eye for a second once. Any shot he will make it? What should I do to extend any chances?




The other one is a silkie. She cannot stand on her own, is listless, won't drink or eat. She barely opens her eyes. If you set her down she just stumbles back until she hits a wall.


Any suggestions? I just bought cottage cheese but I don't think I can even feed it to them considering they won't drink or anything and I don't want to suffocate them.

It sounds to me you are doing all the right things. Healthy chicks from my experience are very vibrant curious little birds. Acting lethargic and quite unresponsive probably means they won't last long. I've had perfectly healthy normal acting birds die for what seems to be no reason at all. I'd suggest keep doing what you're doing.

Thank you. I really doubt the Sultan will make it but obviously pulling for everyone to make it.

I also have Nutri-Drench. Should I use that instead of sugar water? Alternate?

You can give the nutri drench a chance,I don't think it would hurt to give it a chance

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully the Silkie makes it, our silkies are just as much fun as my dogs!

Unfortunately, I don't think she will. She is still alive but still cannot stand up and hasn't opened her eyes. I have been feeding her sugar water and nutridrench but I expect that there is something neurologically wrong and she will soon pass. Unless anyone has any ideas on what I can do differently?

Sorry about Sultan, you did all you could and more than she may have gotten elsewhere. I use lots of natural remedies with my chickens / chicks if they need anything, although I didn't have any luck with one chick I had that passed, sometimes it's just not meant to be. If you have any honey, that mixed with water may help, it has lots of natural nutrients in it. I'd try mixing it with colloidial silver, but I know not everyone has that in their cupboards... Just giving her lots of tlc gives her the best chance. Good luck, sending best wishes your way
