I bought this little guy yesterday as a random older chick, auracana x dominique. When I got a good look at him, he was a lot bigger than I was expecting, so I'm hoping he is old enough to be sexed.

I somehow suspect that someone packaged up and auctioned off a budding cockerel as an unsexed chick but maybe I'm just cynical. He's also got crooked toes?

Thanks for your help!

crooked toes look like the kind that are an incubator issue (perhaps not enough humidity) & hatching took longer causing crooked toe(s) -- since he is a cross, likely not an inbreeding (genetic) issue.

Ohh, people are such jerks! Oh well, that's auctions for ya I suppose.

What are you seeing that tells you it is a cockerel? I noticed the high trail and shimmery feathers (they look like small versions of my EE roo's tail feathers) and the comb, but I never know, as some of my hens are iridescent and have big combs. He also just looks like a guy.

Do you think the toes will straighten in time?
