I'm looking to keep a Silkie cockerel this year that will improve the spacing between the 4th and 5th toe, and so far this chick looks awesome. But I'm looking at the comb and it's making me question if this'll be a cockerel or pullet. Normally I'd be all about having more great pullets (and will still be keeping this one if it's a pullet), but this time I really hope it's a male.
5 weeks old, which is young, I know. But others have much wider and larger combs than this one already. I just need some reassurance that the comb might still develop, so any stories about how your chicks with small combs turned out to be cockerels are very welcome
Plus this is the age when I always think everyone is a cockerel, so the fact I'm doubting this one is concerning.
