Hi! I'm Evie! After having almost all my google searches lead me to this site, I decided to finally join the "flock".
I receantly got seven baby chicks, and I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for me. Most of them are about a month old, and all of them are in our spare bathtub. Every other day I change the newspaper that lines the botom, and the shredded paper that is on top of that. I'm constantly cleaning out both their food and their water, along with making routine checks for pasty butt and sour crop.
There have been no major problems aside from the fact that one of the two younger barred rocks got pecked on her beak and it drew blood. (all was well after we ran out and bought some blue, liquidy substance to apply to the cut)
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on anything else I should be doing. These are my first chicks and I don't want to accidently kill them!
