Wondering if anyone can help identify what killed my chickens? Killed yet not mauled, I've had a fisher cat take out our entire flock of 12 before, also had a fox known in the area carry a couple off to never be found again, yet this time there's zero indication of anything eating my chickens, kinda a thrill of the kill. Have seen a wondering dog on my 5 acres a few days back, is this a sort of tell tale sign of a dog for the thrill of the chase and kill?

Where are you located? To help identify what predators are in your area? Dogs certainly do the chase and grab without eating, and sometimes bite down hard enough to cause internal injuries without leaving any outside damage. Were any chickens carried off? What time of the day or night did this happen? Were your chickens free ranging or in coop or run when this happened?

Thanks for responding. This just happened this morning between 4:30 and 5 a.m. my chickens only free range during the day. I don't think the door to their coop was secured locked up last night. %100 my fault on that one! Usually my husband let's them out right around 5 a.m. before leaving
For work. When I went out shortly after, thats what I found. We're located in Weare NH. I've found all the chickens except one, kind of scattered around my property. None in their coop or fenced run area.
