Any dangers with using sand?

I just changed my runs over to sand today, I hope the girls like it as much as I do. It looks great and already smells better. They were reluctant to walk on it at first. Pretty funny to watch, but most of the time when arent they. Lol.

Another member here used metal screen that is used for stucco. I did the same and works great. My roommate had some from a job and I had some spare wood lying around so it was easy and cheap to make.

I put linoleum down in my coup prior to putting the sand in.

I like the sand. It helped get rid of my last problem with tapeworms. They'd keep getting reinfected until I put the sand down. It's also good for drainage.

Yes, there is a danger with using sand. The danger is that you will be so bored because you won't have to clean your run anymore and you will sit around your house all day long and eat cake and ice cream because your sand run will be soooo clean and you will gain PLENTY of weight.

how deep with sand did you go?

I put about 2" in it. I plan to add a little more. I have read that many here use about 4" of sand.
