Any egg-sports out there?

This is the same egg, the second image is much harder to discern, the first has a light shining perpendicular to the camera. My eggs did this last time: these hardly discernible cracks along the wide end of the egg between 4-60 hours pre-hatch. Is this official quail pipping? According to the internet it should be much more dramatic, but 6/6 did this and only 1 went on to have a “dramatic” looking hole before hatching, but I think it was actually just a long slow zip in the first stages. Is this a more ‘typical’ pip for quail? We’re late day 15. Thanks!

Those are normal pipa for quail eggs. It can take 24 hours from pip to zip.

Good to know! I was all set for big obvious holes but got little tiny cracks and then chicks, still learning what normal is.
