Any goat people mind a brain pick?

and kid control

I've had lots of kids go through the 4x4 holes... we went to 2x4" no climb on any pens the kids are in.

the little breed kids can go through 4x4 holes, but I don't think a boer or full-sized dairy breed could. But yeah....if you can use small wire on the kid pen you will be better off.

Also if you plan on keeping a buck, he will have to be kept away from your dairy herd or his "aroma" will taint the flavor of the milk. And you will need a nice, strong pen for him. I have farm gates that are smashed flat by boer bucks who want to get to the girls.

my full sized lamancha dairy kids will go through the 4x4s... but they're slim goats for sure.
x2 on the bucks, especially the boers, they'll kill ordinary fencing.
and they do STINK in breeding season.
I've heard the milk contamination theory before, my best production dairy friend says its true, but I haven't found it to be true in practice... we kept our buck sharing a fenceline with the does all during rut last year and it didn't affect the milk in any way I could detect.

I try to test the things I hear, sometimes they seem to be true, sometimes not... and my one experiment is probably not proof, but for now, they buck shares a fenceline and the milk tastes just like it always has.
