I've done google searches and a bit of searching on BYC with the hopes of having a definative guide to raising healthy and happy peafowl. Unfortunately I can't really find any particularly "full" guides. Most sources will give me bits-and-pieces of information, such as their tolerance to temperature, basic feeding info, etc. But before I act on my desire to add Peafowl to my collection I would like to be fully aware of their needs, and prepare for it beforehand. Even personal experience is welcome! Actually... Any information would be wonderful! Thanks all!

I did miss them! I'm on BYC through my phone, so I'm afraid I hadn't noticed them. Thanks for pointing them out.

Those are some of my top favorite peafowl breeder websites! I reference them all the time...Not only do they have good information, but they have great photos from birds to pens and even photos of building a pen.

Here is a website that shows you photos and some info on different varieties...It isn't all of the varieties, but it is great for introducing you to all of the different varieties so you know that there are many options when it comes to peafowl.

On youtube dmfett (Peacock information center) has videos about peafowl. Some of the videos may be like a story for kids, so you have to find the ones that are the informative ones and not just ones for kids, but I used to watch their videos when I got into peafowl. I think their older videos are the better ones...

All the websites and topics mentioned in this topic should help you out a lot, but we can definately answer questions that you may still have after you look over this stuff.
