Any guesses on breed?

The both look like Dark Cornish now. One standard sized, one bantam. And I'm pretty sure that regardless of breed, they are males.

Very interesting, had never looked at Dark Cornish, but they definitely have that coloring huh?

What makes you think they are both male with that breed?

Solid black chest feathers. It's pretty much the universal indication of a male.

Junebuggena, thanks so much! Think you are spot on! There is still a slight chance of Craig being a pullet as there is some lacing across the chest which doesn't show up in the pics too well, but Gonzo definitely has a straight black chest with the Dark Cornish Bantam circles around the eyes starting to develop. Dark Cornish would also explain the beefy legs on these two birds
