Plenty of people care if they actually have a purebred bird instead of a mutt. Or just would like to know.

And male-specific feathering is something any experienced chicken keeper should know about. Considering you’ve been a member for thirteen years, I’m shocked that you think they were talking about “breed differences” when they identified it as a rooster via the male-specific feathering. Which, in fact, it is a rooster - something I am also surprised you missed.

OddOneOut - the guest on the podcast was a man from the board who certifies pure breed chickens for competitions. I’ll take his word over someone on BYC
