Any guesses on the genetic makeup of this guy?

I added a couple more pictures to the first post because people didn't seem to be factoring in my comment about his long neck. The people I got him from said "I was told by the original owner he's Amaraucana, but I think he's a Dominique". From the pictures I originally posted I bought him thinking he was a Barred Rock. I picked him up in the evening, he was already on his roost. I checked him for signs of disease but it never dawned on me that he had a rose comb. Only after I got him home and saw him walking around did I figure out that he wasn't a Barred Rock.

On the topic of his comb, yes it is a rose comb. However, a Black Sexlink can have a rose comb as RIRs can have rose combs and rose combs are genetically dominate to single combs. But I'm pretty sure he isn't a Black Sexlink though, his body type just isn't right and you usually can see some red in those birds.

Ok, the 10 month picture really threw me off....He is in the background of that pic. I was fixing to say there is no way that is the same bird. I would say a barred rock cross.

BR x Ameraucana... that's what I was thinking from the photos, then I saw your last post. If the original owner said Ameraucana, then it's likely a cross of those two. Not many barred Ameraucanas around from what I've heard. He's very handsome, whatever he is.

That is what I've been thinking too. I'm going to hatch out his eggs from a couple of RIR, Barred Rocks and a Buff Orp to see what those mutts look like. Then I should have more of an idea of what he is. Too bad he is a roo instead of a hen. The egg color sure would help.​

Sorry, but that is not the same bird! Look at its comb. The one in the foreground of the 10 month picture has a single comb. Sorry, but they are not the same bird.

So that probably is him in the background then and the red on the wings of the Black Sexlink roo is washed out from the flash.
