This was one of those free rare-breed specials. Any guesses on what breed this is?
9 weeks old.
I was hoping for a hen, but you know how that goes.

Is that a white earlobe?
Well- if it's not, I'd say Black Australorp or Jersey Giant. Almost looks like my black Orp hen- but I think that's a roo.

What color are the bottom of the feet?

Chris

The legs are dark, (I would call them black).
Bottom of the feet are almost a buff or flesh color, (would that be considered white or yellow?), with the claws the same light color as the bottom of the feet.

Chic is from McMurray Hatchery if that helps at all.

I'm thinking Black Austrolorp roo, too.

"Bottom of the feet are almost a buff or flesh color, (would that be considered white or yellow?)"

I'd say that makes them white.

Be careful. These days you can't say flesh when refering to a light color, or buff. It isn't considered Politically Correct.

Even Crayola had to change the name on that color crayon.
