any guesses?

Sometimes revenge is soft and warm and furry!
yes it is. Although I haven't lost any to coyotes yet, it's only a matter of time. There are multiple packs in the area so I plan to spend every night this week coyote calling to try to reduce the numbers. The pelts are amazing but mink is our preference.

So far no skunks. We have coyotes, mink, foxes, and bobcats. I grew up trapping and tanning with my dad and I don't think skunk pelts go for much. Lol. My trail camera has caught a solid black yote so I'm on his trail.

Sorry to hear you lost her. Plenty of coyotes around here, and I have never seen an all black one! I bet it looks beautiful. When opossums, coons, and coyotes start getting brave I set traps. Happy trapping!

I have my son's first coyote on the wall. He got it with my dad at the age of 7. My dad got one last year that was mostly black except for the underbelly so it seems to be in the local gene pool. Prices for those oddities do not exist because there are so few, not enough of a consistant color for making anything out of so it will go to mittens, mocs or a wall hanger. Either way, one less chicken eater.
