Any harm feeding chicken dead mice?

They definintely don't mind it dead (thawed). I finally tossed a snake reject to them and they LOVED it. Startd a whole chase going.

I could toss them live baby mice but I don't feel like I should encourage their blood-thirstiness.

Huh, wonder if you could teach the chickens to eat mice and rats so they could keep their coop rodent free. Maybe train them with little dead mice, then larger dead mice then small rats, then large ones, then maybe when they saw running rats they would get them?

My Rocks eat any mouse the find, but only in the daytime. I think it is rare. But there is possible disease in mice, and their dropping. Having said that, a whole mouse has all the nutrients a chicken needs. The mice I catch in my barn I run thru my food reprocessor which turns them to a powder, mix this with a little cooked rice and granulate it. The chicken love this supplement. All parasites are destroyed in the food reprocessor.
