Any hatcheries SE Texas?

Well, i'd actually been looking at Ideal as the most likely if I order some, but I was sure thinking it was way more than a two hour drive from here....thanks, I'm going to go get on a map and check that out. I'm really concerned about ordering and shipping because what I'm considering are really tiny bantams, and they are so fragile. I've ordered many larger chickens directly or got then through feed stores from Ideal, its been a few years, but never had a problem. The stress of shipping on such tiny chicks is my real concern right now. If it is a reasonable drive, that would be fantastic.

Wow, NickyPic!!! THANKS! I looked at a map....I've lived in the part of Texas all my life...why the heck was i thinking Cameron was up somewhere north and west of Ft worth???!!! I have no idea! Don't know why I hadn't already looked it up on a map! Whether to drive it or not, I'm not even nearly so worried now about the distance/time in transit if I were to order to ship! Thanks so much!

Heh. I love it. I get Dad to go with me. I'll drive up there, but then he gets to drive back so that I can sit with the box and awwwww all the way home.

What breeds are you going to get?

They'll ship just fine. I live up here in DFW and have ordered - I don't know, 4-6 times - from Ideal. Never had a problem with losing babies because of shipping, even bantams. And yes, Ideal does have wonderful customer service.
