Valley Hatchery LLC

Yes I just actually spoke to them trying to gain more info. They do have a location in TN which is closer. Thanks so much for info! Much appreciated😁

I placed an order in January for fall delivery and I'm concerned about the distance too.I live in southern WV. Thanks!

Day old Baby chicks exposed to cold during shipping can lay down and die regardless what you do.I will not ship chicks in spring or winter
This makes sense, and some hatcheries stop shipping around the end of October. However, it's good to keep in mind that in some areas the summertime temps during shipping can be just as dangerous.

True! The earliest I'll accept shipped chicks is September for southern WV. July and August is too hot

I can't recommend Valley Hatchery. We ordered Silver Appleyard ducks early this year and what we got were a mixed bunch of crossbreeds as far as I can tell. I don't believe Silver Appleyards are supposed to have black bills or a brown head. After contacting the hatchery they seemed unconcerned and offered no solution. 20250507_155231.jpg
