So I have had 4 more hatch since my last post. One I had to help it chipped away too much shell but the membrane didn't give and it got stuck and couldn't come out. The other 3 hatched on their own very quickly once they finally decided that they wanted to get out. I have 4 more to go but they aren't doing anything. If they still haven't pipped by tonight I will candle them to see if they are doing okay. Their hatch day is technically tomorrow but everyone else has hatched already so I am thinking that the eggs got hot in shipping and started before they were put in the incubator. I would love for all of them to hatch but seeing how they were shipped eggs 8 out of 12 is pretty good. Still keeping my fingers crossed for the others though. No leg problems in this bunch. They are still a bit sleepy from being up all night but their toes and legs are all straight and they are bebopping around the brooder right now. Can't wait until they are old enough to go out though this batch is loud lol.
Hows the pipper?

I sense that it is going to be a very long night I have four in the brooder now. Two pipped with holes in them and third starting to pip and 5 more that still need to get started. I have a feeling I am not going to get much sleep tonight.
It is such a long process. I do remove my babies to the brooder, too. Just works better. Do all yours pip at the top of the egg, the upside??? Just curious, as that is what mine have done, unless used as a kickball.
I also have had some success with helping my of poults out of their shells. 2 died anyway and 2 survived with a little PT to get there legs going better. I do think that the hard kicking required to get out of the egg is part of developing their ability to walk correctly. So it imitate that activity, I hold the poult up off the ground with my fingers between its legs and it paddles like mad! Like all exercises, series of three for a couple minutes, 6 times a day until good for go.
One last poult pipped . . need to go check on it.
