Hi all,
I just have a question for you! My friend has some chickens. They are Old English Game x Belgiums.

She has three OEGxBelgium roosters that she want to give away.

How good a breed are they?

Would they be worth money?

What are they for (table or egg?)

I have no idea about the breed, but really want to find out about them!

Thank you,
Kizza

I have both in bantam. The OEGB are very active and hyper. Sometimes the roo's are mean. The hens are good mothers. The bantams are mostly for the eggs. The Belgium are more of a calm bird still active but also friendlier. The roo's are almost always friendly. The hens are also good mothers. They are also mostly just for eggs. I figure a cross between the 2 would be active, good mother hens, decent layers and the roo's would maybe be a little more friendly than OEGB roo's. As for worth anything..........everything is worth something if someone else wants it! They would probably be worth something to you if you eat eggs or need a broody hen. Oh, both breeds are great bug catchers.

old english game standard fight if theres a bunch of roosters, once they killed a hen which suprised me. you may have to seperate the oeg at times and it will be alot of thought with what chickens go with who to breed, if you want a strong chicken, big, small etc. also when you put a few roosters togehter, dont put the strongest together, or the strongets and weakest thats a deathwish. it just takes soem common sense on where to place them and how. i hope this helps.

oh and ir depends if they are show chickens they can be worth more and you can eat there eggs. correct me if i'm wrong but you can eat any egg from any chicken if it isnt bad
