I'm starting over. Help me decide what breeds to go with please

Looks like that's what I am going to have to do. I'm on the call list at a few local feed stores that are supposed to get chicks in the next day or two. They wont be the breeds I wanted but I dont want to wait until late summer for a hatchery either. Unless yall can recommend another reputable hatchery not too terribly far from me?

I had decided on a combination of Black Star, Red Star, Easter Egger, Buff Orpington, GLW and Barnevelder.

No idea about hatcheries but could you order eggs to hatch? Maybe someone near you so they don't have to ship? My TSC had 3 of those breeds this morning.

Yeah, if you look around on local Facebook groups you might find someone selling chicks!

Wow that was fast. Friday they had lots of July dates listed…May want to do the online chat and see if they have any small amounts not listed (available on mobile website).

I just checked again….nothing until October!

Update…. I ended up getting 3 chicks from a local individual. I was on a call list with many feed stores and the same day I got those 3, Stienhousers called and said they had just got chicks in. All together I ended up with 2 Silver Lakenvelder, 2 Lavender Orps, 2 Cinnamon Queen, 1 Production Red and 1 Black Star. Excited about my new flock. All seem happy and healthy in the brooder. The Lavender Orps are super friendly and run to me when I go to the brooder
