Well I finally got 4 eggs from from quail and was so delighted. So now here inlys the problem.
I put them in my incubator temp and humidity have been great for 1 wk AND THEN TODAY I noticed my turner wasn't working and I don't know how long that it hasn't. I do know the first day it was working. So I don't know if now they will stick to the shell or just not hatch?? Should I just get rid of them or is there a chance that they will hatch?
?????
Thanks for any info,
Patty

Oh yes, continue the hatch

I have the ones you sent in the bator. Is it easy to candle them?

If you have a very strong LED light, maybe. I usually just wait until they are due. 17 days isn't as long as 52 days of anticipation (my darn emu eggs- I have a stethoscope to try something with them since there is no way of candling other than...a blow torch?????)

I can barely wait for quail and chickens. LOL!
I know someone who got desperate to candle dark eggs and used the care headlights! She said it worked. lol... That's probably alot safer than a blow torch.

You'll have to keep us posted on the Emu. That's cool! I would love one, but the yards not big enough. lol...

Ted....
I had pretty good results last time around using a mini mag light. It's about 3". 10 eggs, the 2 I called clear were unfertile (opened on day 10) and the other 8 I felt were fertile after candleing hatched! So I was pretty pleased with the little light.
