She was supposed to be one of four Barred Rocks, but obviously isn’t. Got it from Hoover Hatchery. None of their pictures match!

You add photos by clicking “attach files” right below the box you type in. After they upload you want to hit “insert” and add them as a full photo or a thumbnail.

Hmm, this is a fun mystery!
When the pics don't match I usually assume an easter egger of some sort. Her color is interesting--maybe some sort of silver birchen?

Don’t Easter eggers have fluffy cheek feathers? She does not.

I just looked at Birchens. This does appear to match! It also appears a variety of chickens have this color pattern. But it’s nice to have a description for her! Thanks!

Often, but not always. They get the muffs from Araucana lineage, but EEs can also be made using legbars, and if it's a multigeneration cross the muff can be lost. If she's a multigenerational cross she could lay any color egg, too. Is she laying yet?

For ex, my parents have a hen that's an EE (she lays a light green egg) but she doesn't have muffs (here's a pic from when she was younger)

That said, EE really is just a guess since nothing at Hoover seems to match her otherwise.

Someone on another thread said maybe a silver birchen for color. After Googling, this does seem to be her color, though it seems to be on multiple breeds. I saw a picture of a silver birchen Maran and it seems very similar, especially with the black legs. It is not laying yet. Hopefully next month!
