Any idea what gender?

I have 2

[/IMG]silkie Crosses(the crosses are either Cochin or frizzle ...daddy was blk silkie) I'm guessing Cochin ? But kno nothing about silkies or crosses ! Anyway this lil one is 8 weeks old & has red on comb & wattles where as other one jus starting to try & turn red & this one is always chest bumping my biggest silkie & play fighting. Idk gender of any of others .

We'll need better, closer photos of individual birds to tell for sure. However, I'm seeing some relatively large combs for the age, so you probably have at least on or two roosters.

What is the age?
For a silkie roo look for a walnut comb ( larger than the others), Large pin feathers on the back of the head and dominance. Our Black silkie roo (my avatar) is a good example. Also he acted like a roo before we could see any signs.

I have silkies and I think 8 weeks is right about when I can start to tell with mine. But they are notoriously difficult to tell. If you post them I will take a look. Make sure you do a close up of the head.the Hackles and comb to be specific.

Ok I will get some better pics as soon as I can snatch them up lol! I couldn't get great pics earlier because I thought my 2 year old was gonna lock me in the run lol (gonna be moving the latch today

) still shocked she can operate it
