I ordered some chicks through the local feed store (came from Privett): 6 welsummers, 5 black wyandottes, 5 blue wyandottes
I got the call on Thursday that the chicks had arrived and I could pick them up Friday. I went to the store on Friday around 11am and two of the blue wyandottes had died. Apparently the chicks were in the mail an extra day so they were quite stressed.
The rest seemed fine and I put them in the prepared brooder with water and medicated chick crumbles. They were all content until yesterday when one of the welsummers couldn't walk well and is spending most of it's time flat on the brooder floor with it's eyes closed. It will get up and stumble a little here or there, but the wings are held down and it never takes more than a few steps. Today, another welsummer is spending a lot of time laying down, but it's not looking quite as bad as the first.
Any ideas on what may be going on and/or what I can do?
UPDATE: The welsummer that looked like it was getting sick this morning is now acting fine, but the one that went down first is just laying there with it's wings spread out, not moving at all now and only peeped faintly when picked up.
Thanks for any help!!
