Any ideas for rain gutter on Quaker coop?

I wouldn't bother with a gutter at all. Install a rain diverter the whole width of the roof.

Make an extended roof over hang out of 2 x or 1 x wood, cover with flashing and attach to coop. The flashing could butt up against the coop and sit just below the shingles, so the water will run off the shingles onto the flashing and over the vent. I don't know if I explained it good, but this is what I would try. My attempt at making a sketch isn't the greatest, without using a different method.

Or you could get some of the large bamboo and split it length wise for gutters.

Thanks everyone for all of the ideas. Your responses were invaluable.
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and this is a 5' x 6' coop. We went with the rain diverter idea first. My husband hooked it up to a rain barrel.

That was preparing for any immediate rain. Next we are going to explore adding the flashing/eave idea

Can you update this when you get rain to let us know how it works ?
I wonder if it would be better to put it just under the last shingle.

I have a Rubbermaid shed for my coop and this is what I am planning on doing. I just have not getting there yet
