Any Ideas? Help please.

There was a coyote in my backyard. Maybe 50 feet from my window. My silkie rooster was squawking so we saw it. I ran at it yelling at it. We can't shoot it because there are to many houses around. And we don't have traps. How can we deter the coyote?
