I am looking for any advice or ideas on what this might be and how I can help treat this young hen. This approximately 5 month old pullet has developed a large, hard to the touch tumor looking thing on its face. It has increased in size considerably over the last few weeks. I have not tried to remedy it and have only recently been able to photograph the issue up close. She is acting normal, eating and drinking, foraging and roosting. She has not started laying eggs yet. My flock is fed organic layer pellets (I only recently stopped offering a grower mix for the younger birds), organic scratch as a treat and some chicken appropriate kitchen scraps. I use wood shavings as bedding. The rest of the flock is ok, no other issues that I have noticed!

Have you noticed any drainage from her nostrils, sneezing, rattly breathing, or bubbles in her eyes? Those are common signs of respiratory disease. Hers could be that or possibly a tumor. I would look for the other signs and watch for signs of growth.

I have not witnessed her sneezing or coughing or any fluids of any kind. I’ve only just been watching this thing grow bigger and bigger over the last two weeks. She is acting normal otherwise.
