I never get this problem when hatching eggs but now I do have a problem with keeping the humidity maintained in my incubator. If I add the water to my incubator and get it at the right percentage I want it, it ends up dropping 20% in 6 hours. I don't want to have to keep opening my incubator every time humidity drops. I tried putting a towel around it but still doesn't work, air just escapes out of it. Any ideas?

What Type Of Incubator & What Stage Of Incubation Are You At ?
I actually haven't even put the eggs in yet, might be tommorow. I am just letting it run to get the temperature and humidity stable before I put them in and it's been running for 5 days now. As for brand, it's a 48 egg incubator, the seller doesn't have a brand name.

You need an independent calibrated hygrometer and probably a thermometer separate from the incubator instruments. Incubator instruments are usually wrong. I am glad you are running this prior to putting your eggs in, very smart. Get independent instruments and you will know exactly what is going on inside your bator. This will save you, and your chicks, huge amounts of stress.
