Any ideas on what might be wrong? Discovered my 26 week old cochin off by herself and not moving around. I inspected her for injuries and discovered sores on one of her legs. I've isolated her in a kennel but she does not seem to be improving and noticed today that her poop is now green. There have been no changes to her diet.

It may be an internal or external parasite infestation. Check externally for lice and mites. When was flock last wormed. The Green poop signifies that you girl isn't eating enough. She is possible of her food due to feeling ill. You can try giving nutridrench and some scrambled eggs. Keep her comfortable and isolated. Treat the sores with blue Kote or antibiotic ointment without pain reliever.

Can you take her to a vet?
Has she had any signs of respiratory illness before this?
Have you added any new birds recently?

The hock looks like it is infected. Clean it with some Betadine.or Chlorhexidine (Novalsan). Apply some Vetericyn or triple antibiotic ointment. You may need also give antibiotics as well.

As to the cause it could be a number of things. It could have started as a small cut that became infected or with it's location on the hock/leg it could be something like Mycoplasma Synoviae.

Offer poultry vitamins in her water and see if she will eat some scrambled/hard boiled egg, tuna, mackerel or meat. Green poop can be an indication of not eating, but is often associated with certain illnesses as well.

You also may want to consider placing her in a sling at least for several hours a day, this may help relieve some pressure from laying down so much and it will start healing.

What ever this is, another chicken that doesn't have sores is now showing the same symptoms. Also, this chicken has a swollen stomach, while the cochin doesn't. There is no vet near our house and neither of the chickens have had any respiratory illnesses before. The most recent chickens in our flock were added 5 months ago.

There is no vet?, or are you not able to provide vet care?, my opinion is thease birds need medical attention and if you are unable to provide it, that's understandable but they should be allowed to suffer either so humanley putting them down whould be the respectfull thing to do

I'm sorry you have another that is ill.

The Cochin, the hock looks infected, if it is from Mycoplasma S. you can try treating with Tylan 50 injectable , given 1 ml for every 5 lb of weight, 2x a day for 5 days. Give it orally, instead of injecting it. Oxytetracycline can also be used in the water.

The one with the swollen tummy - has she started laying eggs?
Separate her as well. It could be the same illness affecting her or she could possibly be having trouble with laying/reproductive issues.
If she has the same thing the Cochin has, then you can try treating her with antibiotics as well. If it is a laying issue, give her a soak in a warm epsom salts bath, provide extra calcium and her normal feed and water.

Antibiotics won't cure Mycoplasma, but can help with any secondary infections.

The chicken that has a swollen belly is a buff orpington and has been laying for a little over a year, it even layed an egg right before it started showing symptoms. Neither of the chickens have moved more than a foot today and seem to be almost completely paralyzed.
