First time poster here. I recently hatched a few chicks from my pure white feed store "ameraucana" roo to a pure buff Orpington hen. I knew we'd get some mutts, but didn't know what to expect as I don't know much of the genetics of the roo. The babies were not what I was expecting! One hatched out looking like a slightly pale buff, and the other was a nearly white with a black head spot and black stripes! Now their wings are growing in with muddy speckles. Any thoughts on the dad's genetics to produce these colors in babies?
