We are just wondering what breed these girls are? Does anyone have any ideas?

The first looks like a Barred Plymouth Rock, the second looks like a Rhode Island Red. Have a great night and God Bless!

I'm going to say Cuckoo Maran and RIR.

Legs too white and barring too light for BR hen.

Just my guess though.

The barred bird looks like a mix to me. It has a large comb, and it looks like it has white earlobes, plus it is built more like a Leghorn than barred rock. So I'm guessing maybe cuckoo Marans crossed with a Mediterranean breed.

The second looks like a Rhode Island Red, but the legs aren't yellow. So maybe some mixing going on here, too.

It looks a dark chestnut color to me. But yeah, difficult to tell in that light.

She's definitely a darker red color. Mixed breeds wouldn't surprise me at all. Not the best picture but the lighting is a bit better. They surprised me and decided to jump up and "cuddle" with me when I wasn't expecting it. Lol

We did get our first eggs from them yesterday too! Not sure which ones are from which girl though.
