So, within the last month I have been having predator problems. Within this year and last year I have lived in 4 different houses and have not once had to worry about predators. Well, about a month ago I had a duck hatch 6 ducklings. Four of which completely disappeared. I knew that there was something going on but wasn't sure what. Well, two weeks ago, we went out of town. I went outside to check on my chickens, and guess who I ran into. A skunk! I bought some animal repellent, but I was worried it would keep my chickens from staying in the fence. SO I sprayed a little bit just outside the fence, but ran into it again today. Anyways, my question is, how do I get rid of it? I am really worried about it because. I have a broody is sitting on eggs that have ten days left. I am worried about the skunk getting them. Any ideas? Thx in advance.

Live trap and a gun

The safest way to get rid of him is to trap it and then kill it. Don't use poison as this can kill your chickens too. Don't make it someone else's problem by (if your brave enough) to take it some where and drop it off. If you can't do the killing find a friend that will.

Apparently it has found a food source and you won't be able to deter it from coming back and worse yet, when it has young it will teach them where the food it.

You could lock up all your animals and make it predator proof, but one mistake and the skunk will have dinner again.

I purposely bought a repellent that wasn't supposed to hurt animals for that reason. I may have to do that... Maybe the next time I run into it (if it's possible to run into it a third time and still not get sprayed....)

Well I would trap it if hair and urine scents are not keeping it at bay. Keeping trap set 24/7 is a good idea.
