Any ideas?:/

I have a hen that has just began laying this summer about a month-2months ago and she has been laying good everyday until the past 3/4 days she got up into her laying box and will not get down and when she does she acts like a broody hen very loud and has a mean side to her but there are no eggs inside of her nest that is why I am wondering why she is acting this way any ideas?

She sounds broody to me....and they will sit on an empty nest.
Do you have other laying hens and nests?
She may go to another nest with eggs in it.

Is she staying on the nest all night and all day except to eat, drink, poop, dust bathe?
If she's staying all night and all day, for 3 days running then she's broody,
and you'll have to decide whether to let her hatch some fertile eggs or to break her broodiness.

Yes we do have one other laying hen and she hasn't jumped in her nest yes this is about the third day all night and all day

She does not eat much maybe gets down 2-3 times a day and when she does she is just very loud I haven't noticed her doing anything weird before that

What do they act like when they get that? Any idea or no?
