My 18 yr. old Blue and Gold macaw broke the tip of his upper beak and it split up both sides a little. My avain very was out of town, he recommended another vet 2 hours away. He was able to dremel his beak and reshape. He Prescribed the antibiotic Veraflox which is the name brand for Pradofloxacin because he was concerned about an infection. It's an antibiotic for cats. I know we use a lot of meds of label sometimes. I'm concerned about giving it because I can find no information about using this in parrots. Has anyone else ever used this?
