Any Landscapers???... Calling All Landscapers!!!... Help???...

PLEASE can you please give me any advive on how to get rid of stickers???!!! I pulled every single weed

in my backyard and raked it REALLY good... I leveled the yard a lot better by raking it too! Boy was that hard work lol!!! But I got rid of every single weed and laid some steer manure and laid some grass seed. I watered it really good twice a day and the grass started growing in patches. But after about 4 days the stickers started growing back!!! Well this happened because when I got rid of the weeds, I couldn't get rid of the stickers! Although, I did get rid of a lot! Just not all of them... But someone told me that if I planted grass, that the grass would start growing and "choke" out the stickers.... So not true! Or maybe I just did it wrong???

I don't know one thing about landscaping or getting rid of stickers, so if anyone can help.... THANK YOU!!!

You need to pul up the root... if any part of the root remains it will come back. It will also take a while for the seeds which are in the ground (and will grow) to be worked out) ...I battled with it for several years before I finally got rid of mine. I ahve also seen a type of grass seed which is treated not only with a medium to help the grass grow but also to keep out weeds...try that (but do not let your birds near this until the grass is established >you would not want them eating this treated seed mixture)

That makes a lot of sense, thanks! Someone (not a landscaper) also told me that I should just throw some topsoil and till the yard and then lay some grass seed. And that should prevent the stickers from growing back... Is this a proven method, or just one of those he said she said kinda things lol???....
