I use to play Amtgard for many years. It's pretty dead now (at least where I am) so I wanna try to find something that is going, problem is I don't really know what to look for. I know some others are Darkon, SCA, LAIRE... I heard theres a Pirate LARP group near me but I can't imagine what they're called. I was told to just look for flags (?).

I'm in S. FL BTW, so if anyone in S. FL LARPs PM ME!

But I just wanna know if anyone out there LARPs and what the name of your group is so I can look some up.

I just really wanna hit someone with a foam sword!

Hi I'm in Oregon and belong to the SCA. Have your tried playing with them. They use wood swords and are alot of fun to be around. In florida there is a very active kingdom

SCA is my last resort, LOL. Me and SCA have a bit of a falling out but I'll go back if it's my only option

I was in the SCA for many years. We didn't have a falling out per se, but I came to realize that the underlying current wasn't really conducive to marriage. Still, there are ways to avoid those things and I learned a great deal there. I don't believe there is an organization out there that is so educationally oriented and accurate to boot. Too many LARPS take great liberties with fact. Some are built to be purely fantasy.

Just remembered this old website and it's still up. I had a working knowledge of casting before the SCA, but this really helped me learn a lot of history and new(old) techniques...

And yes, that's my work.
