With predators being a big issue when having poultry, anyone use an electric fence to help protect their babies?

Before we moved here and got some fencing up, we used it around the coop/run at night. Two strands of wire did not stop a coyote from busting the staples of the hardware cloth and pulling a duck out by the head. Use three or more strands around the coop at night.

Hello Texag87, sorry to hear about your bad experience with a coyote. Unless a person has their poultry sealed off inside a steel box at night. Predators have nothing to lose and everything to gain when it comes to a free meal. They will do their best to stress test and find a weak spot to get in. I agree with you on using three or more strands of wire, I am currently using four strands on the outside of our perimeter fence. We have neighbors who like to let their dogs run loose and I don't care to have them in our yard raising H*** with our babies just outside of the coop, so far no issues.
