I just got started in the chicken raising here in The Philippines. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take a look and see if any of these chicks resemble an Easter Egger Chicken. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
Look at the color of the legs. 2nd picture, the one in the feeder with darker legs, they look like they may be green? If so, they would be your easter eggers
Look for green legs and little muffs or beards on their chins,, it is usually a good indicator.
My question would be who hatched them,,, yourself? Or another party? If you hatched them yourself and they came from a green/blue egg it will definitly be an EE as the green/blue egg coloring is a Dom gene trait. However,, and I hate to disapoint you,, that doesn't mean that you will get green/blue eggs from them. Chances are you will,, but due to the all the cross breeding that was done to the breed (i almost hate to use the term breed because they really are the mutt of the chicken world) you may end up with just a plain brown egg layer.
Hello Folks, Thanks so much for your input. I did hatch these eggs myself but only brown and white eggs. I do have what is supposed to be a Easter Egger Rooster but I also have a few other roosters.
id say it probably is to soon to tell if they will lay different colored eggs and whos who and whats what as i sorely found out resently i have alot of mixed breed chicks and they looked similar to yours but their parent all lay brown eggs with some really light brown egg layersi hope you get what your looking for ALL chickens are beautiful. your chicks will change around week 3-4 and that should give you a much better understanding of what they are
Hello, Thanks so much for your time and yes they are really changing in growth and coloration. I have nearly 100 chickens now and I started out with 10. Just think I am addicted. HA
