Any one have Texas A&M's

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

I do believe there are several members that raise them. They are quite easy to raise, and once they hit maturity they are easy to sex. Just observe them for a little while, and you will know who is who.

I just stood there and watched them, and put small blue zipties on the males. Also, the male's vents tend to swell a lot, and if pressure is gently applied they will exude a foam very similar in consistency to shaving cream. They are wonderful birds, and quite tasty.

Thanks for the info, I have started to sex them and I think I am over run with boys. That trick works like a charm, until they decided they have had enough of you looking at them lol.

I forgot... I don't plan on eating them they are just pets and for eggs.

Anyone ordered any Texas A&Ms from Strombergs? (hatching eggs or otherwise)??

If so, did they grow out to be the 12-14 ounce birds promised?

I haven't ordered from Strombergs, but I took 3 birds (chosen for looks, not weight) to the fair last summer... the female was 12.5 ounces live weight.
They were young, too... the male was just under 10 ounces.
