Their shells look messed up....
UVB lighting is a must, for calcium absorption. They also need a basking light over a land area and a submersible aquarium heater.
10 gallons per inch of turtle is the rule. For right now you can get a 50 gallon rubbermaid tub for 25 bucks.
Females can get 13 inches, males top out around 10 inches. I have a 5 inch male that came to me in a box with vitamin A deficiency and shell rot. I also have a 10 yr old painted turtle that used to be on display at the local general motors plant.
You want the depth of the water to be the length of the turtle. So 3-4 inches deep.

Turtles are expensive, my 2 "free" turtles have cost me about a grand in supplies in 1 year.

Shay when I bring the pheonix chicks down this afternoon I will check them out,
make sure they are healthy etc.
I have 5 red eared a yellow belly and painteds.
right now I have them in a 250 gal pond in the house LOL yes house.


S\\ome one just dropped off 2 beautiful 5 year old sliders, I now have to bring in another pond just for those 2 turtles, they are huge.
Are you going to be home this afternoon?
