Any one using this kennel for your ducks? Any advice greatly appreciated

We are building our duck coop ourselves. I want to attach it to a pen. I was looking into building it ourselves but I found this from TSC. I like that it is expandable and could get something in our yard quickly. I would appreciate any tips to modify it for ducks. If anyone has experiences with it, I would appreciate any feedback. I read through most of the reviews. Also, any advice on predator proofing? Thanks, Cat and the family

I agree. You would have to line the entire thing with 1/2" or 1" inch mesh and add a top to make it predator proof and prevent a duck from sticking it's head through the links and getting hurt. Predators could also dig under.

As the other members posted, it's not predicator proof. IMO, you will have to do a lot of extra work to make it predator proof, or start a new build which might be easier and quicker in the long run.

I found a kennel link below, with a top cover that might be a little more user friendly to get started with, over the heavy duty kennel from TSC that has no top.

As the other members posted, it's not predicator proof. IMO, you will have to do a lot of extra work to make it predator proof, or start a new build which might be easier and quicker in the long run.

Hi, I have used something very similar, although not as extravagant for my ducks here in the UK. It enables me to confine them during the daytime to the back of my garden, but then I do make sure that they are secured in the shed during the night. The pen has been standing for 2 years with no problems.

Thank you! I wanted to do a custom build but time is not on our side. My family is planning on doing our best to predator proof anything we make or do for them. I know this kennel is not predator proof as is. There is an 'a la carte' top that can be added on but needs to be predator proofed. One of my BF's is a manager at TSC. I talked to her today. She said it would work with modification like burying hardware cloth on the perimeter. She suggested their poultry pen but that also needs the same thing and doesn't fit well in the area of our yard where our duckies are going.
