Hey everyone,

I gave 24 fertile eggs to a guy I know at work to hatch for me in his incubator. Found out later that he didn't tell me he also had a bunch of hatching eggs he'd ordered come in the same time and had too many for one bator, so he pulled an old bator out of storage and put my eggs in it.

He told me today that they started to hatch on Friday, and about 5/24 have hatched. They are hatching very slowly, it seems. One he said didn't move and "its head just sort of bobbles around." Another of the five he told me has bumps on its back.

He plans to see what else will hatch today and tomorrow and bring me the chicks on Thursday. Other than the two that seem damaged, are there any other problems I should expect with growth/development from chicks that were hatched in a crummy old incubator?

I Had 3 Bad hatches in a Brower Top hatch and some of the chicks had problems.
Both times it was low temps in a crazy incu that caused mine and they were slow hatches took 3 days for them to hatch.
I got 7 in the first hatch and 5 in the second none from the third.

I had a few that were tiny and peeped alot one or 2 died a few days later.
3 had comb issues their combs are deformed and 1 had some leg problems.

All of them just seemed to struggle to just to thrive.

I have a strange one in particular that i believe to be both sex's it has the characteristics of both a hen and a roo ( very strange)
