Used to be a gerontologist. I have been out of it so long and living/learning such different things that I no longer even have interest in returning to that if I return to the workforce.
I'm a third generation HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) Tech. I'm 45 years old and have been in that business for 28 years. On Sept. 16th this year after 12 years doing HVAC maintenance and installation at our local school system I retired because of what the job was doing to my health. My wife insisted that I quit and take a year long break. I have always wanted chickens and last winter I finally moved to the family farm way out in the sticks. The following spring I built a coop and got my chickens. Since then with all the time I have I added more coops and runs and chickens. Last summers garden was a success and I can hardly wait till spring to do it again. I'm going to sell some eggs and chicks this year and if the garden does good some produce. I'm in good shape financially so maybe with a little income from this farm and a part time job I can finally do what I want when I want.
Wish me luck folks!!
