I disagree. A barred rock rooster at this age would have very obvious hackle and saddle feathers, and this bird doesn't have roo-ish sickle feathers.

I would watch the Sussex, they are slow developers. I know a guy who had a bunch of light sussex cockerals in with a full grown roo and a hen. I thought they were hens because their combs and wattles weren't nearly as big as the Roo's.
