Those of you who have roosters...

I have an accident rooster. Every morning when I feed him and Stella, if Stella starts eating he LITTERALLY walks up be hind her and kicks her in the butt! Then she runs off and he eats. It's so funny but what a jerk, not sharing food. Anyone else have roosters that do this? Or am I just lucky? 🤣
Happy Thanksgiving ya'll.

Mine is the best boy ever. If I give him a treat he drops it and lets the girls eat. It sounds like your roo has very little manners.
Yeah he is a big jerk. Every morning he looks for a way to bite me. I am about to move him to his own area because when I spend time with my girls I don't want to constantly have to watch my back. I have one hen 21 weeks old and 9 that are 5 weeks old. I am about to put them together and kick him out to his own place. He is 21 weeks. And he is a big dude. I do not like him.

Well, this is getting close to the line, is he going to be a good rooster, or is he going to be a jerk. If I read your post right, you only have the two chickens? Often times this is just not enough hens for a rooster.

Roosters can really change as they reach this stage. Behavior a week ago, is no indicator for the behavior tomorrow. When you keep a rooster, you need a plan B, where you can separate him from yourself, or the other chickens. Some roosters can become violent, do beware.

Anymore chickens then these two? I have multiple roosters, & hens together, & only have 3 jerks, out of my 18 roosters.

Jerks to me, not the ladies.

Do you need a recipe?

Well I actually have 10 pullets total. The other 9 are just younger.. 5 weeks. They are in their own area which Stella and Tex can walk around. But I don't like him. He always wants to pick a fight with me and I am not confident that will change. I didn't want a rooster. I got 4 chicks originally and he was one of them. 2 others died. Which left me with him and Stella. I bought a bigger, nicer coop and got 9 more chicks who so far all seem to be pullets. I plan on letting Stella meet the chicks tomorrow and Tex is going to his own space. Stella has been hanging out near the chicks for 2 weeks.
