Any silkie experts?

How old am I ?
Am I a hen?

I just got (it) from a swap meet Sat. and they told me it was about 5to6 wks old but I'm thinking older.

What do you think?

That looks about the right age mine are 6 weeks old. I've heard it harder to tell the sex of silkies until they are older. So far mine still have real small combs. I seen the other 2 that were with mine when I bought them and they had bigger combs then the two I bought. Guy told me the others were males so I said I only wanted girls.

I am not an expert but I can tell you that it would be easier to judge size if you had something else in the pic to judge it against, maybe a pop can. It looks like it hasnt fully feathered out so if they said 5 to 6 weeks, I would guess the 6 weeks. That is just my rough guess but there are others on here that know more than I do. My silkies are still just babies.

Not an ex-pert, but he looks like he may be the age that was stated...the development of a comb tells me its a boy!! I got my silkies at 8/10 weeks of age and their combs were developed more than some others, and now I'm certain that the combs are from the " crowing" ones

He's a cute gangly teen!
