So I am starting/going to buy peafowl chicks from BirdRain and so I need to plan my way of action on raising peafowls and chicks. So I want to create a small peafowl pens and not too big because my yard isn't that big. I am working on a way for my city to change the limits for peafowl from 1 to I don't know, maybe 2. So the pens must have a branch or a ledge that the peafowl can rest on, 2 bowls for foods and water, a wire roof that won't conduct electricity, a nice shady place for it to cool down, and etc, like what peafowls needs in their pens. Please help me!

AugeredIn's pen design is a great one to follow. He mentioned using netting for the top of the pen and that is because peafowl can hurt themselves flying into a top made of wire. Just about once a year on this site someone new shows up to the peafowl section saying their peafowl died and it ends up being that it was housed in a pen with a chain link or welded wire top and the bird got spooked by something, flew up, broke its neck and got paralyzed and died. Some people have gotten lucky and their bird has recovered but the safest option is netting over the top since peafowl fly with so much force.

The roost for the peafowl should be as high as you can make it without them being too close to the roof. It is best if the peacock's train does not touch the ground when he is on the roost. Hopefully @AugeredIn will say how tall his pens are.
