Any Standard Poodle experts on here??

Only in obedience but not confirmation. They are fun fun fun dogs!

Contact the poodle club of America. They will hook you up with people who could help you. The American Kennel Club can help you as well.

One good thing to remember is to brush up on basic obedience and correct the dog's stance whenever it is standing. Also, get the dog used to be handled by complete strangers to the dog, but of course, people whom you trust and can teach how to open the dog's mouth gently,
touch its body, lift its tail and so on. Poodles that are not used to being handled may be a little skittish on the ring, which will cause the dog to lose points.

And take your dog out there on a leash. Walk the dog on busy places so it can gain confidence to walk happily with its tail wagging among the crowds.
