I recently got a rooster and he acclimated great to my hens, how ever the next morning he had white secretions coming out his right eye, It looked better the 3rd day, I thought maybe during transport he injured himself, today it is swelled shut and is really swollen, anybody have any suggestions?? Any chance there has been an injury to his eye?
Do you have any plain (no pain reliever) Neosprin antibiotic ointment on hand? You will need to hold a warm compress on his eye and try to get the eye open so you can see what's going on.
While Neosporin is not ideal, it works well as an eye ointment in chickens.
You will have to do this twice a day for at least 5 days. If it seems to be getting worse, is there a chance of a vet near by?
Also, check with the people you got him from - are there any similar issues with other birds they have?

No sneezing or congestion, I did the warm compress and neosporin he already looks better I am convinced this happened during transport he was a little upset for awhile so I’m keeping an eye on him! Thanks everyone for your info it’s so nice to have someone with experience for ask for help
